Have you ever been to one of the exercise stations near Lake Patoka? Or, have been to the shelter at Lake Patoka? Those landmarks were planed, and made by local Boy Scouts from troop 10, in Bondurant Iowa. Boy Scouts, is an organization for young men to learn about the outdoors, and how to serve their community. A man named Robert Baden - Powell started the organization back in 1908. Back then, Boy Scouts used to be military training for young men. Now, it is learning about good life morals to have. According to dictionary.com, another definition of Boy Scout is a person who exceeds the normal expectation. What that means is that boy scouts are good citizens, and they follow the rules. Another reason to get involved in Boy Scouts is if you finish Eagle Scout (the highest rank) you could receive a college scholarship depending on the college. The Scout Slogan is “Do a good term daily.” Which means do something that is helpful. For example, if you see someone drop something, pick it up, and return it to the person who dropped it.
