Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Reveiw by Zala Shonka
This movie has been met with skepticism and excitement, and I was no exception. I was ecstatic when I had first seen the trailers for this movie because the animation style is different and unique, and I personally love the Marvel comics and all of the Spiderman stories. Although I was excited, I had friends that were very skeptical about this movie, and I know that there are probably a lot of people who haven’t seen this movie who felt the same, so this is my review of Spider-Man Into the Spiderverse.
First of all, the animation. I think the animation was really well done, especially considering that this is the first movie Sony Pictures has done in this style. The frame rate is lowered, (frames are how many different pictures play in one second) and the reason for that is to make it a bit more chunky, so it sort of gives the feeling of watching comics move. It also has a very large color pallet and is very pretty in how the colors work together and contrast.
Secondly, the MUSIC! Honestly, the soundtrack for this movie is so good! I listen to it almost every day and it is amazing. I don’t really have anything else to say about it.
Finally, the story! All of the spider people are unique and funny, and the story is very well written. Also, a lot of the characters outside of spider people, are great too! To name a few, Aunt May, Miles’ Dad, Miles’ Uncle, and King Pin. I don’t want to give out any spoilers but everything related to the story is amazing.
In conclusion, GO. WATCH. THIS. MOVIE. NOW!
Beauty and the BeastSneak Peek by Lillie Hamlin
Everyone in their right mind is excited for the new “Beauty and the Beast” movie coming out on March 17th. The tale is as old as time, starring Emma Watson (Perfect for the role and amazing in general) and Dan Stevens. It is a very similar film compared to the animated feature. It features wonderful and classic songs that make everyone want to sing along. The live action version has almost exactly the same classic songs such as: “Bonjour”, “Belle (Reprise.)”, “Be our Guest”, and the most iconic song from the film, “Beauty and the Beast”. These are just few of the amazing songs in “Beauty and the Beast”. Not to mention some of the new songs added to the movie. Some of the new songs are, “How Does a Moment Last Forever?”, “Evermore”, and “Days in the Sun”. There are a few, slight changes, but all in my view are for the best and don’t change the plot in any way. Belle is a much stronger character and is very self-reliant. There are some rumors that Beast might not change back into a prince, but this is highly unlikely. This is just hear-say from other movie reviewers and reporters. In the movie poster it shows all of the spelled servants in the castle, in their original form. A thing that a lot of people didn’t understand in the 1991 version was why the servants were enchanted. In this version you learn so many answers to things you might not have asked. This movie will already be out in theaters by the time you all read this. I will watch the movie and let you guys know what I think of it. I for one am SUPER excited for it!
Today I was able to watch the movie the day that it came out. It was amazing! It was full of comedy, romance, music, and just plain fun! The live-action version gives you a lot more background information on the characters and the whole story in general. SPOILER ALERT!: In the movie you figure out what happens to Belle’s mother. (I guess that was more of a spoiler about what you will learn.) I HIGHLY recommend watching this film! It was so good! The live-action film makes you feel like you’re living the fairytale with the characters. (Which I LOVE!) All the actors are perfect for their roles and watching this movie added a whole new layer to my love of this story, not to mention how well they took the animation and made it look real. This is now one of my all time FAVORITE movies and it is (in my opinion) WAY better than the animated, 1991 version. This is a movie that EVERYONE should watch! It was amazing and I LOVED it! It was a great family film. This movie left both adults and children stunned and amazed by the exceptional movie. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

Took by Mary Downing Hahn
Article by Abbie Rinehart
Took is a scary ghost story that was written by Mary Downing Hahn. Mary Downing Hahn writes a lot of spooky stories, but this might be the scariest one yet. This story is about a family that moves into an old house by a forest. Rumor has it that an old witch named Old Auntie used to live there. Word gets around pretty easily in their new town. Supposedly Old Auntie takes a girl and keeps her for 50 years and takes another one. 12 year old Daniel didn’t believe Brody Mason’s crazy stories, but when Daniel’s little sister Erica becomes more emerged in her doll and disappears into the woods he knows she’s been “took” and has to suck up all his courage to get her back.
